THE EMERGING COMPANY is a once-in-a-lifetime 10-week training programme with the internationally renowned team behind THE HERDS. We are searching for talented, dynamic and physical performers to join THE HERDS EMERGING COMPANY training programme for 10 weeks in Spring/Summer 2025.

  • A 10-week intensive training programme in puppetry and public art performance

  • Expand your skills in physical performance working alongside Artistic Director Amir Nizar Zuabi and world-leading puppeteers Ukwanda Puppets & Designs Art Collective and Craig Leo.

  • Tour across Europe's most inspiring cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London, Stockholm and more

  • Be part of a one-of-a-kind, global artistic endeavour that aims to raise awareness about the climate crisis

  • Receive a Programme Certificate issued under the auspices of the prestigious University of the Arts London.

  • Create a platform for your future career.

  • The Emerging Company begins in Malaga week commencing 19 May 2025 and ends in Norway week commencing 28 July 2025.

  • You need to audition to join the Emerging Company, which has a limited number of places. Auditions are open to all aged 21-35.

  • Some prior experience of performing and training is required. Prior experience of puppetry is not required.

  • This is a 10-week training and performance programme from May to August 2025. You will need to be available for the entirety of the 10-week programme.

  • Your accommodation, travel and food expenses will be covered by the production. Some travel exclusions apply (click here).

  • The Emerging Company is an unpaid experience. You will be asked to pay a £500 deposit to secure your place, which is refunded in full when you have completed the programme. Bursaries are available.
