THE HERDS is the newest project from The Walk Productions, led by producers David Lan and Tracey Seaward, Artistic Director Amir Nizar Zuabi and Executive Producer Sarah Loader. We present large scale participatory public art that brings together artists and partnerships of many kinds, creating events of artistic excellence, challenging assumptions, rethinking narratives and provoking change.
We were founded in 2019 to create the journeys of Little Amal, the 12 foot high puppet of a refugee child who has reached 2 million people in 18 countries and millions more worldwide.
For THE HERDS we are building a team of local and international creatives from the Congo Basin to the Arctic Circle, who are experts in their respective fields of production, education, environment and communications. As passionate advocates for their communities, embedded in the distinctive culture of their cities, they challenge us to ensure our work does not simply “visit” a place, but is powered by local knowledge.
