Meet the Team

Yvonne Msebenzi is a Theatre maker, facilitator, qualified physical theatre performer, and wellness fitness coach based in Cape Town. She was introduced to theatre at a young age, receiving mentorship from Zoleka Helesi, Thami Mbongo, and Bongile Mantsai. An alumnus of Magnet Theatre’s Youth Company, she also studied puppetry at UNIMA South Africa. Her theatre credits include performances at prestigious venues such as The Baxter Theatre, Artscape, and Magnet Theatre in productions like Okwebhokhwe by Mandla Mbothwe, Antigone by Mark Fleishman, and Ubumbano by Qondiswa James. In 2012, her performance in the Intlebendwane puppetry show earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Zabalaza Fringe Festival. Yvonne’s international experience includes performing in the early childhood production Stoneplay by Jennie Reznek, which toured Germany, Lagos, and Italy. Beyond theatre, she is also recognized for her involvement with the Black Pearls Afro Soul group under Elvis Sibeko Records, where she is known for her fiery presence. She has been mentored by Zimbini Makwetu and has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Zolani Mahola and Buhle Bendalo.
