Neil Vora, MD is the Senior Advisor for One Health at Conservation International and Executive Director of the Preventing Pandemics at the Source Coalition. A former CDC physician (2012–2021), he led investigations into emerging viruses, including a novel poxvirus in Georgia and Ebola outbreaks in Liberia (2014) and the DRC (2019). In 2020, he was appointed by NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to lead the city’s COVID-19 contact tracing program, overseeing 3,000+ staff. He continues to treat patients in a public tuberculosis clinic and trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
